This summer's calendar is shaping up to host an enticingly strong mix of artists across the board and across Europe: from jazz-drenched Sussex fields to Swedish city parks, Barcelona’s coastal concrete sprawl and London’s ever-expanding outdoor circuit, 'tis the season to immerse and create some indelible music-fuelled memories in the coming months. Here’s a guide to the most essential weekends of the summer.
Primavera Sound Barcelona 4–6 June 2026 Parc del Fòrum, Barcelona

Still Europe’s benchmark for ambitious, tastefully assembled line-ups, Primavera Sound Barcelona remains unmatched in scale without entirely sacrificing credibility. A festival where Massive Attack, The Cure, PinkPantheress, Viagra Boys, Little Simz, Kneecap and Gorillaz can comfortably coexist alongside cult favourites like Geese, Cameron Winter, Annahstasia and Ninajirachi says everything about its range. The return of My Bloody Valentine alone feels momentous. The beachside concrete maze of Parc del Fòrum continues to be one of live music’s great modern settings; equal parts endurance test and pilgrimage.
Roskilde 27 June–4 July 2026 Roskilde, Denmark

Entirely non-profit and powered heavily by volunteers, Roskilde combines blockbuster booking power with adventurous leftfield programming: Gorillaz, The Cure, David Byrne, Little Simz, Clipse and Kneecap bring obvious headline weight, while artists like Jane Remover, Hemlocke Springs, Iglooghost and Nourished By Time ensure the festival retains its forward-looking edge.
Love Supreme 3–5 July 2026 Glynde Place, East Sussex

Perhaps the UK’s most relaxed major festival. Love Supreme has perfected the difficult balance between accessibility and musicianship, drawing together jazz traditionalists, neo-soul devotees and families sprawled across Sussex hillsides. This year’s programme leans heavily into contemporary crossover excellence: Loyle Carner, Ezra Collective, Kokoroko and De La Soul sitting comfortably beside the spiritual deep-digging of DJ Pee .Wee.
All Points East August 2026 Victoria Park, London

All Points East continues to function less as a singular festival and more as a rotating series of carefully targeted mini-festivals occupying Victoria Park across multiple weekends in August. Across the various bills you’ll find Tyler, the Creator, Clipse, Turnstile, Baby Keem, Vince Staples, Danny Brown, Ravyn Lenae, Dijon, Zack Fox and PARTYOF2 sharing space with one of the year’s strongest alternative line-ups. The expanded Outbreak presence brings Deftones, Idles, Amyl & The Sniffers, Interpol, JPEGmafia, Deafheaven and Mannequin Pussy into the fold, pushing the festival further into punk, hardcore and experimental territory.
We Out Here 13–16 August 2026 Wimborne St Giles, Dorset

Curated as ever by the omnipotent Gilles Peterson, We Out Here has quietly evolved into one of the U.K.'s most musically adventurous camping festival. This year’s edition feels particularly rich: Thundercat, Shabaka, Stereolab and Aja Monet headline a programme that stretches effortlessly between jazz futurism, cosmic electronics, spoken word and soundsystem culture.
Way Out West 13–15 August 2026 Gothenburg, Sweden

Way Out West continues to operate with a sleek Scandinavian confidence that separates it from the mud-and-chaos mythology of U.K. festival culture. This year’s line-up is absurdly deep: The Cure, Gorillaz, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Lorde, Blood Orange, Clipse, Four Tet and The Hives headline a programme that also finds room for adventurous names like Anoushka Shankar, Annahstasia, Geese, Dijon, Jane Remover, Ravyn Lenae and Ninajirachi.
Rally 22 August 2026 Southwark Park, London

Quietly becoming one of London’s most essential day festivals for adventurous listeners. Rally trades obvious blockbuster booking for curation, weaving together avant-pop, ambient electronics and contemporary jazz into one remarkably fluid programme. This year’s highlights include the elusive Blood Orange, electronic architect Daniel Avery, genre-blurring vocalist Keiyaa and the ever-compelling Nabihah Iqbal. Floating Points’ continued involvement gives the festival a distinct identity: intellectually curious but never inaccessible.
end of the road 3-6 September 2026 larmer tree gardens, dorset

End of the Road Festival balances literary calm and leftfield discovery within the wooded surrounds of Larmer Tree Gardens. This year’s line-up feels especially strong, pairing the rare headline pull of Pulp with the introspective brilliance of Earl Sweatshirt & MIKE, alongside Kurt Vile & The Violators, noise provocateurs Model/Actriz and experimental newcomers Angine de Poitrine.
Manchester Psych Fest 5 SEPTEMBER 2026 Various venues, Manchester

Manchester Psych Fest transforms the city centre into a dense network of fuzzed-out guitars, kosmische electronics and experimental oddities. This year’s highlights include the return of The Beta Band, noise-rock provocateurs Model/Actriz, garage-psych mainstay Ty Segall, and the increasingly hyped Dog Race alongside underground favourites like Angine de Poitrine and returning legends Stereolab. A must-visit for those end-of-summer stragglers looking to quench their hard-rock thirst within one of the U.K.'s most entertaining cities.
